This cobaltinitrite (III) anion has 4 threefold rotation axes, with 3 mutually perpendicular twofold rotation axes through the N-Co-N bonds.
The point-group symmetry for this molecule is given the crystallographic symbol 2/m -3, which is usually shortened to m -3. Do not confuse this with the crystallographic symbol for the point group -3 m.
